Incidentally, a great alternative the the Tachi is the basic Wista, which is
called a 45DXII. You pay $200 extra for the back movements, which aren't
needed and reduce the structural stability of the camera somewhat. The
camera looks best in rosewood, but, in cherrywood, which is lighter and more
practical, the Wista is almost as light as the Tachihara.

Also, it's not generally known, but there is an alternative source for
Wistas--Badger Graphics in Wisconsin. I think it's www.badgergraphic.com or
www.badgergraphics.com. They sell the Wista for TWO-THIRDS what B&H sells it
for. A screaming bargain.

Also, HP Marketing wants you to believe that they're the only importer of
Rodenstock lenses, but Badger is a direct Rodenstock importer too, and
charges significantly less than other sources, including B&H and Adorama,
which both get their lenses through HP.

There are only two perfect cameras ever made, and one is a cherrywood Wista
DXII with that sweet and tiny little Rodenstock 150mm Apo-Sironar-S lens on
it. I'm not mentioning the other on THIS list. <g>
