My husband studies evidence photography. I believe when it comes to dates or
anything else about evidence pics, what the court relies on most is the
authority and reputation of the photographer. A photographer could have
taken some of the best evidence photos ever made, but if his history
(especially on the stand) is questionable, every photo is called into
question. Personally, I just don't like having stuff stamped across my
negatives. Depending on what the picture is, those marks can be a real pain
to get out in Photoshop.
