email friendliness and print friendliness are mutually exclusive right now. send a 3MB JPG file to your friend to show on the screen is still a big deal, especially when it doesn't fit on the monitor display. when it becomes not a big deal then it will be easier to do this. you should try viewing some images on a 200dpi monitor running 4Kx3K resolution.
