Yeah, I don't know aboutYashica Mat 124 meters losing accuracy with age
(although they probably do), but I do know that finding one with a working
meter is not an easy task, given the age of the cameras.  What, did they make
them into the '70's or 80's?

I heard that they basically made them until the machines (molds or whatever)
wore out, then that was it.  For that reason (worn molds or whatever) it seems
that some of the later models aren't of the same quality in terms of fit and
finish as some of the earlier ones (I don't know if that's true, as I read it
somewhere on the 'net, and we all know how reliable that can be <g>).
