I agree. We own a Sharp Hi8. But aside from the fact that she wanbts here own camera, she's just intimidated by having to connect the camera to the VCR using the RCA plugs. It has been an intersting insight into the problems of consumer electronics. I suddenly have more sympathy for the "Digtial behind the counter" thread.
Nice to hear that both a JVC and a Panasonic owner has a reasoanble experience, however. I eventually switched to a Hi8 camcorder and the sound quality improved dramatically. At this stage I finally moved on to DV. Looking back, I don't think I would choose VHS-C again. Sound and image quality are more important to me than playback convenience.
