I did not watch the video, but I can describe how my FA*200/f2.8 behaves:

- When switching from MF to AF, the focus ring will rotate a certain amount until it locks into position. During this unlocked rotation the distance scale does not rotate. It only rotates (driven by the motor in the camera) after that the focus ring is locked in AF position
- When the focus ring is locked in AF position, it can not be rotated.
- When switching from AF to MF, focus ring and distance scale immediately can be rotated together.

Your sample seems to work differently. However I would only call this a real problem, if the lens elements responsable for inner focusing move independantly from the focus scale. If this would be the case, I would advise you to return the lens and get another one in a shop where you can check it before purchasing it, if this is possible for you, i.e. if you live in or nearby a major city.

BTW: From the 11 Pentax lenses (mostly FA) that I purchased new, none was faulty. 3 of them developed problems later on: The A50/f1.4 developed a sticky aperture, in the FA43/f1.9 one lens element developed a bubble, and the FA50/f2.8 Macro got hard to turn sometimes in MF.

I promise this will be my last question regarding my FA*200/2.8. :)

When the focus ring was shifted from MF to AF, it will rotate for certain amount before it was locked into position. However, as I rotate the focus ring (AF position), the distance scale rotates too. I do not remember the previous FA*200 did the same, and I think this behaviour also slow down the AF speed. However, since I do not have another FA*200 to compare with, would you guys test it out for me please? I have prepared a video clip which you can see what I mean exactly (1MB). Thx!!!
