I bet the *istD would be fantastic for MACRO work. The smaller sensor would allow lower reproduction ratios, hence increasing DOF which can be a real problem even for 35mm.
I imagine the 50mm F4/2.8 macro lenses would be ideal ( same field of view as a 75mm on 35mm). Nice working room and still very good DOF. BUT, that said, I cant justify $1500 for one since I do little so macro work except for photographing ebay items and the measly 1.3 Mpixel digicam I'm now using is more than sufficient for that. J.C.
