Canon said the same thing about the now obsolete FD mount. They claimed it was the most future proof lens mount out there. It also had an mysterious prong that going to be used for some elusive future feature. Of course it all was bull. Now if small frame DSLR are becoming hits, Canon medium format sized lens mount and lenses may be at a disadvantage. Never say never. Pål
