Shel,

I've got a pic using the K50/1.2 here:
http://www.spotmatic.com/images/NYE2k002.jpg

It's an old one from Dec 31, 1999 in Paris, on the Champs Elysee around
11pm. Film was Super HG 1600, and a K50/1.2 on an ME Super, manually
metered to 1/30 at f/1.2 in ambient light, hand held and no hood. The lens
is soft wide open, but that extra half stop over the 1.4 makes a difference
between no shot and getting the shot sometimes. Subject in this case is
probably more like 7-8 feet away. The lights in the background should give
you a good idea how the out of focus areas behave wide open.

The real life scene at the moment the picture was taken was darker to the
eye than it appears in this picture.

Cheers,
Gerald
