Pentax has said that the pricing is going to be "competetive".
Costing more than the D10 isn't "competetive". Anyway, it's far too early to say anything about the price. CCD prices are likely to drop, it's still 3-4 months left to the release.
Regarding looks - Canon has the ugliest cameras in the world, and they sell... :-)
