the same can be said of taking pictures of resolution targets, which you
don't like for evalutating lens quality. no-one does that under normal
shooting conditions. similarly, these days, there are a rapidly diminishing
number of places that do wet prints using optical enlargers. if i can't get
to one, it doesn't do me any good to know it is better.
