I don't mind if a sales person makes a recommendation for a product they believe in, as long as they respect your decission to not follow the recommendation. I used to frequently recommend Pentax products because I use them myself and could honestly say why I was recommending it, but when someone says "Can I see the Nikon?" I showed them the Nikon. It's just common courtesy and basic respect for the customer. Maybe "common courtesy" isn't as common as it should be.
