Exactly my point. You'd be back to that mode of operation. Apparently most camera manufactures feel that their customers don't like working like that - everybody seems to feel that full-aperture composition and focussing, with the lens only stopping down while the picture was being taken, was a desirable feature. If it isn't a desirable feature, then why has practically every camera made since the Spotmatic F (and not just from Pentax) worked that way? And if it *is* a desirable feature, then why do you seem to believe that nobody would complain if that ability were removed?
