well, i suppose, for printing uncropped images at 8x10,
6M of RGB pixels is as goot as it gets. but i don't
now any digicam capable of that. yet.

but if anyone still shoots B&W film... a 6MP digicam has exactly 2M of pixels of each
color. iow, with a
red filter on (not that uncommon i suppose, or in
photoshop-speak, with red channel selected), it is
exactly equivalent to a 2MP digicam. i am sure there
will be lots of people claiming that a 2MP digicam is
capable of beating 6x7 at printing up to 8x10 and
beyond <g>

and there also are transparencies on a light table,
which look nothing like whatever a 21" monitor is
capable of showing (i do have a digital camera and
a light table, so i am speaking from my own
experience).

at any rate, i am yet to see any bargains in either
horribly outdated K-mount classics, or in medium
format. i suppose the guys who claimed that the
market is smarter then the individuals that make
it up, knew what they were talking about <g>

best,
mishka
