Here is another picture with an example of how the swastika was used before the Nazis. This was actually the logotype for Swedish high-power electricity company ASEA (now merged with a Swiss company and known under the name ABB).

The picture shows a knob on some equipment at a museum. It can also be seen on the wheel axis on some museum trams.
