Many years ago I made a wooden box about 2 feet by one, about  6 inches
high and had a white translucent acrylic cut to size. Inside was painted
white with a small pair of warm florescent tubes. It worked a treat and
cost me the florries, holders, wiring - had the wood already.

Pair of handles and it was great.

Too heavy thought, to be portable. If I was going to do it again, I'd
make it bigger and permanent.

Or do what I did much later: bought a cheap and cheerful plastic portable
lightbox from a photo dealer.

It's gathering dust now.
