in July, i got a call for an image in the afternoon. they needed it that
night. the only picture i had was taken with a 2 megapixel digital camera
about 4 years ago under bad lighting conditions with lots of sun and shadows
from clouds over the landscape. i never show it to anyone because at best it
is a mediocre shot. it was the only one that showed the area they wanted and
they paid. it got published. there will be areas that i never return to for
one reason or another, perhaps because it basically has nothing to see that
is worth an art shot. however, i was there, i have a set of photos, and
someone might want it. what is useless to me as a fine art print might be
very valuable to someone else as a stock photo. archeologists dig through
middens for a reason.
