I have the F* version, and the rear element group doesn't wobble at all.

I have just run to fetch my FA* 24 mm. and have shaken it like you said (now I understand why my wife, cats and dog think I'm mad) It makes a mechanical sound, as if it were wobbling, but I can see its movement, if you understand what I mean. I wouldn't worry, at least about your 24 mm. unless it is evident and affects your photos. By the way, I remember that some time ago you said you had noticed some cromatic aberration in the FA* 24 mm., so far I have seen none, and have used the lens extensively for more than 11 years.
