I don't know anything about whisk(e)y but was under the distinct impression 
that, even if (as you say) you can put water in Scotch whisky, you shouldn't 
put an "e" in it.

IOW, I understood that "whiskey" and "whisky" are different things, and Scotch 
is not the one with an "e".
