$299 would be a steal for an A* 300/2.8 in BGN condition, let alone EX+! I paid $1700 for mine (with, admittedly, all the accessories + a 1.4XL TC), and felt I got a good deal. If I weren't thinking about going for the FA* version I'd seriously consider making an offer on this one (assuming you don't snap it up first). That's also an extremely good price for the 400/5.6.
