Bob,

It's a fair analogy, but also the same ethics apply.  If one is offended by
their mother's drunkenness it is their prerogative to confront said mother
with their grievance.  I reckon it would be very bad form to go down the
pub, or to Poets' Corner*, and complain to the world about it.

I'm a "Ripping Yarns" fan myself.  My favourite episode is "Tomkinson's
Schooldays".
