a proper deblur filter is too expensive to implement in current camera processors. however, it is a correct deblur that increases sharpness. the cost is some artifacts near sharp edges. you induce ringing in the MTF function instead of a smooth dropoff with resolution. digital sensors begin to show aliasing effects anyway at their resolution limits.
