it's not as bad as you think on most days. i used a polarizer on my Sigma 15-30 on the *istD. there were times when it was really noticeable on the sky, and there are times when it isn't.

Any polarizer on a 20mm will give a weird result as polarization won't be uniform over the whole field of view.
