Certainly his achievement is absolutly fabulous - particualrly given his health. But I say never say never frank. Sport is littered with broken records .

Absolutely, Tom!!

My point (if there was one) is that breaking the
record is the ~real~ achievement.  This puts him head
and shoulders above his predecessors.  After this,
he's only making it harder for those who follow to
best him.

However many Tours Lance ends up winning
consecutively, he may have a record that is
unbeatable.  It's like the Yankee Clipper's record of
consecutive games with a hit.  My father always said
that was one record that would never be beaten, and so
far, he's been proven to be correct.

Lance's consecutive Tours record may join Dimaggio's
as one that will stand forever.
