But you forgot that there is certain point, when bigger pixels won't bring lower noise levels. EOS-1Ds has similar noise level to coming from the same era EOS-D60 or 10D despite having much bigger pixel pitch. Kodak's FF DSLRs are even worse than that. This is caused AFAIR mainly due to much longer signal paths.
