If I understand him correctly, what he is saying is that Kodak, Agfa, Ilford, etcetra are not selling film they are selling stock. And their businesses decisions are based upon that.
Seems like this guy, T. R. Sanford, a frequent poster on the forum at
graflex.org, has a pretty good handle on what is happening with the film
