Mine was the normal zoom on my MZ 5n (after my F 35-135 bit the rocks)and is one of two on my *ist D (FAJ 18-35 is the other). It's ok. The manual focus ring is a joke but it's not really intended for that is it?
It'd be better as a normal zoom on the *ist D if it was a bit shorter or longer IYKWIM.
I'd have something better if my lens budget wasn't all going to replacing lenses I've dropped...

Cory
who's he kidding? He doesn't have any fricken lens budget...

Just got one of those off ebay. The photographer, who sold me my
4-5.6/70-210mm, had one of these 35-80mm for sale. But I didn't buy it. He
said it was surpricingly sharp (he switched to Nikon). Now I got it (still
waiting for the mail).
It could be nice as a walk-arround/street photography lens on my only
autofocus camera - the *ist D, on which it will equal something like a
50-125mm.

Has anyone tried this lens?
