Yup, Sigma lenses you get for most bodies, except Oly E-1 I'd say.

Since I somehow don't use zooms I'll get away cheaper buying my missing pentax lenses: next will be the DA-14/2.8 for 700 Euros, then the 31 limited for under 1.000 Euros. The other two lenses I miss I'll buy used, I am hunting ebay for quite some time now and would say the (F)A 200/2.8 will cost me 500 to 1.000 (last A200/2.8 sold last week for 445 Euros) and the (F)A 300/2.8 from 1.300 to 2.000 (a FA300/2.8 had been on ebay starting from 1.700 a few times and never got sold at this price).
So I'll be set at hopefully another 4.000 Euros (I already own 24/2.8 50/1.2 77/1.8 135/2.8 filling the hole in my buying list).

Zooms somehow don't do it for me - I had the DA16-45 and did not like it, way too dark for me and the handling didn't feel right, then there was the F100-300 which somehow made ugly pictures (plus CA and softness) so for now I gave up on zoom lenses.

I got no idea what qualifies to be a pro lens, but so far I quite liked most of my primes quite well.

cu,
Sam

Fair enough. If you buy Sigma lenses anyway, you could actually just as well
choose any camera body, right!?

I like Pentax lenses but can't really afford the new Pro versions. Lenses
like the FA 2.8/28-70mm = 1.300 Euros, the FA 2.8/200mm = 1.400 Euros, the
FA 2.8/300mm = 5.000 Euros or the FA2.8/80-200mm 1.800 Euros are way out of
my leage. A decent outfit 2-3 zoom lenses and 3-4 primes original Pentax Pro
quality would cost me something like 20.000-25.000 Euros (That money could
buy me a nice car). I'd have to be a professional to justify that.

So I buy old and/or used Pentax lenses or new third party lenses. My next
lens will be a FAJ zoom lens.

Unfortunately Pentax does not make Pro lenses (especially wide angles, f2.8
or better) for digital cameras (H... I couldn't afford them right away,
anyway)
.
A guy I know complained about this to Pentax in Denmark - he couldn't get
his wide angle shots sharp enough. So they allowed him to return the camera
(*ist D) after having used it for a whole year!!!

Well, for some the lenses don't eat up cash - they just buy a 28-300 Sigma for 100,- Euros and maybe a wider zoom and are done with it.

For me I agree, I only own the *istD for a few months and already spent
three times the price on lenses - and I only just startet (DA14 will be the
next for sure).
When I decided what camera system to buy (sigma, olympus, nikon, canon,
pentax) I mainly looked at the lens prices and ignored the cost of the
camera.

Speaking of cost of an autofocus F 2.8 - f 70-200mm lens:
Pentax: SMC-FA ED IF 80-200 mm 2.8 (NO IS): 1800-1900 Euros
Sigma: 70-200mm F/2,8 APO EX (No IS) : 760-1000 Euros
Tokina AT-X 828 AF Pro (f=70-200mm F=2.8): 670 Euros
Carl Zeiss Contax Vario Sonnar 80-200mm F4 (non IS) 1500 Euros
Canon : EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM (With IS): 1700-2300 Euros
Nikon: AF-S VR 70-200 mm f/2.8G ED (With IS): 2100-2500 Euros

So, among non-IS lenses, Pentax lenses seem to be quite expensive
(1800-1900
Euros against 670-1000 Euros)
The contax lens is as expensive - for F4, that is!

It's funny how we often seem to focus (pun intended) at camera bodies. The
lenses, not the body, is what eats the cash.

Not, bad. But after all, it's a 1000 USD lens!
In Denmark the list price is 1800 USD, in Germany it can be found for less
than 800 Euros (1000USD).
I guess it ought to be very sharp.

The Tokina version is a little less expensive than the Sigma (Germany).
The
Pentax version 2.8/80-200mm is very expensive; close to 5000 USD in
Denmark,
and only 1800 Euros in Germany = app. 2300 USD. Oh my - why is Pentax so
expensive here? I guess it really doesn't matter, 'cause they never sell
any
pro-Pentax leses up here.

My question for the fearless out there is still:

Camera:
ISO:
Focal length:
Aperture:
Shutter speed:
PC RAW conversion/JPEG straight from camera:
