your comparison is not what I was talking
about. I was talking about two lenses of
the same focal length, one designed only
to cover APS and one designed to cover
FF 35mm.

BTW out of curiosity, what is the size and price of the lenses
you mentioned?

There is no need to theorize regarding most of your points. Just compare
the 
size, construction and price of the DA14/2.8 and the FA20/2.8.
