Browsing B&H today, I found that Pentax makes
a quick release system for 35, 645, and 67 cameras.
Has anyone ever used it? It seems to be designed
as an add-on for tripod heads that don't feature quick
release. Below is info clipped from the B&H description:

The Pentax Quick Shoe is a quick release system containing two parts. With the top section screwed into the camera's tripod socket (Quick Shoe Adapter Plate) and the bottom attached to the tripod head (Quick Shoe), this accessory speeds up mounting and removal of the camera to and from the tripod. This item can also be used on other cameras.
