It's been a while since we've had that low temperatures around here... I regularly bring my *D when walking to work, and it works fine after half an hour in the cold, with or without activity along the way. However, I can't recall if I've used the camera at colder than -10 °C.

Subject: IstD question for cold climate users

         Hi all.

Question for our PDML friends using this camera in cold climates.

I looked in the manual to see if it listed a min/max operating temperature but i did not
see anything.

I used the D today in some pretty cool temperature's.(hey its southern ontario, everyone
thinks -20
is cold.LOL) It was -20 C all day,but sunny.

I did a bunch of rural shots of icy trees and such with a SMC A 50 F1.7 lens to see how
the mf went
on the camera.
I noticed the first few shots went fine, then i could get the meter working and focus
confirmation
to, but no matter how i pressed on the shutter release it would not fire, then it would and
everything back to normal.
Shooting from the truck out the side window never had a problem.

I only ask this as i have shot the D1 and D2H in this temperature with no problems.

Batteries are out of the box today lithiums and about 50 frames.

Dave.
