But those sellers don't last long, their negative feedback
would pile up so fast they would be gone in no time.
I don't buy from ebay rookies who would do something
so stupid....Thats where the feedback comes in.

The feedback
on ebay is not worthless, it is very valuable IMHO.
Perfect? no, but if you really learn how to interpret
it with experience it is very useful. I not only check 
every sellers recent feedback, I look for their responses
to negatives they may have, some are absolutely incredible
and I avoid those sellers like the plague.

I also check BUYERS feedbacks when I am selling high
ticket items. If a bidder has some recent non paying
bidder feedback or shaky buying feedback he is not only history on that
auction,
he goes in my banned bidder file.

I think you misunderstood my meaning. What I mean was if the discription
was way off, quite possible the seller was cheating, and he/she knew it.
