No.

It can't be toned down.

Well, yes, it can, I suppose.  I tried to do it in PS, but I'm so
useless at it, I just left it.  The print is a bit better, but even
the print is hot around his ear/side of his face.  It is, of course,
just a working print, so if I were having it done again, I'd ask to
burn those areas a bit, to tone it down.
