Haven't used the DS yet. Picked it up and it felt quite nice, however, with a better one-handed grip.

Personally, I don't want to live w/o HyperProgram mode, so if *I* were going to purchase a second, it would have to be another *ist D.

Subject: Sid's gettin enabled soon-- *istD, *istDS, or wait for *istDn?

Hey Gang,
I'm about to get the only spending money I'm liable to see all this year-- we're moving into a lovely new home soon, with a lovely new house note--

But I'm wondering, what's the scuttlebutt on a new pentax digital to update/replace the *istD?
I've not seen anything on the list lately that looked like rumors of new models from Paal or the other "insiders," so

Whaddya hear guys? Should I go for a "very-late-in-the-model-life" *istD?
Or is the *istDS gonna have a replacement first?

My hunch is if I ca hold out 6 more months, Pentax will have a C***** competitor that will have specs similar to their 8 mega pixel model. Or maybe it would be even better.

But if the consensus among the knowledgeable brethren is that Pentax will stand (and not deliver), then I will take my refund check and buy a *ist D or a *istDS sooner rather than later.

I'll have enough for a $1500 new model, with some enhanced features, or I'd spend $750-$1000 for a new DS or a very slightly used D.
As always, I respect and look to the list for proper steerage.
