Michael,
   
   If that Sigma lens is autofocus, then it certainly complies with
Pentax KF mount and will enable multi-segment metering. If it's a
Sigma manual focus, dismount it and look at the mount. If you see an
array of electric contacts, then it's KA compatible and fully supports
multi-segment. 
   That said, do yourself a favour and get a genuine Pentax SMC.
It will certainly do better than the Sigma equivalent.
