Canon and Nikon on are their 3rd or 4th generation DSLRs (Canon: D30 D60 10D 20D; 1D 1Ds 1DII 1DsII; Rebel, RebelXT. Nikon: D1 D1x D1h D100 D70 D2H D2X (Nikon lineage is a little harder to figure out)). Pentax by comparison is still on their first generation. > I think they definitely have shown interest. First the aborted MZ-D, then years later the announcement of the *ist D, followed by actual availability a year after that. Then another year and the "downgraded" Ds, again, very slow from announcement to consumers' hands. followed by? Some lenses, yes, but no "upgrade" to the DSLR family. Instead I see discontinuation of lenses and impossible availability of good current quality glass. Where do you see Pentax's interest? (for the record, I'm not interested in a full-frame camera per se; I'm happy with the D and the images it can produce on a small sensor. I'm not discounting a future purchase of a full-frame camera if it ever exists but the full frame argument is moot to me. My argument is about building on the existing APS-C k-mount DSLR family). -- Christian [EMAIL PROTECTED]
