Canada Geese are also a lot bigger, so a few of them go a long way.  

Just go to a garbage dump, or down to the docks (as I often do,
cruising the seedy bars and back alleyways... - sorry, to much info
again), and check out how many gulls there are soaring about.

I bet you're right - many more gulls than geese.
