These P&S cameras are amazing, aren't they -

I use a Nikon Coolpix 5700 at work & the biggest complaint I have with it is
that when it is in the macro mode, while I can focus down to something like 2",
if I need aux light, the onboard flash cannot overcome the lens extension &
consequently the flash is useless. They have no aux flash that is fully
compatable with that camera.

Howdy, gang!

The 750z has macro and super-macro focusing modes. So today I set a
carved figurine on the dining table, mounted the camera on a tripod
and angled it sharply down at the figure. The lens was 2" at most
from the figure's head. Window light coming in from the left. Other
than that I let the camera do all the work. I opened the photos in PS
Elements, resized them, and saved them for the web. The figure itself
is about 6" tall. Comments appreciated, of course.
