At our dog show today, a lady asked if I would take a couple of head

She didn't want anything fancy, just something to show off the dogs
conformation, and she certainly wasn't looking for a "pro portrait"
I thought it might be nice if I could do something in controlled
light, so asked the show photographer if I could plug into her lights
for a moment to do the shoot.
In my day, this would be a no brainer. I'd be plugged in and shooting,
probably with the photographer helping out.
Nowadays, it seems, no one helps each other out. The little tweeb
looked at me like as if I had crawled out from under a rock and told
me no, if the lady wanted a portrait, she would do it and charge
accordingly.
It would have cost her nothing to help, and she had nothing to gain by
refusing.
The world is changing, but I don't think for the better.
