Are you using it on a film or digital body?

I'm using the DS bodies for just about 100% of my photography now. Given that, I do also have the MX and I even bought two rolls of XP2 film to play with ... one of these days I'll get around to shooting with it. ;-)

IMO 35mm is a fantastic focal length on film. I have the K35mm f/ 3.5 and it's one of my real favourites. Luckily I don't often find myself wishing for extra speed.

It's a little bit more of a normal on the DS; the 24mm focal length gives the same field of view as a 35mm lens does on film. The extra speed is very useful on the DS, not so much because you need it for low light but because it allows you to limit the DoF more. On the 16x24mm format, given the field of view of a normal lens, you have effectively about a stop and then some more DoF at any given [EMAIL PROTECTED] setting. With 35mm format and a 50mm lens, I was most often shooting between f/4 and f/5.6; with the 35mm lens on the DS, I shoot more between f/2.8 and f/4 to achieve the same look.

My Pentax lens kit is just about as complete as I need it to be. More than I need, actually: I'll be going through the equipment cabinet and putting some of the extras up for sale. No point to me in hoarding lenses that will not be used often.

Thinking you have enough gear is the indicator that it's time to take up another format. Ever thought of 6x7? ;)

I sold off the rest of my medium format gear just recently; I'm concentrating on the DS bodies and lenses. Now that I have the bodies and lenses covered, I will next put some money into my lighting equipment.

When I think about another format to sharpen up my seeing, I generally go to smaller ... I've been itching to do some Minox work again recently. ;-)
