interesting. i guess all my K and M lenses aren't that useful...

even more interesting. i guess, the most popular should be 600/4 everyone seems
to be buying these days?

i think the explanation is quite simple: they are better off selling
dslrs *and*
new lenses at the same time. i am pretty sure that once the initial dslr market
saturates, there will be FD and M42 DSLRs. not neccessarily made by canon.
witness epson leica-mount digital RF.

to make a profitable product, you don't have market to average. you
just have to
have enough interested buyers. if someone makes a dslr body available
with a number
of mounts (AI, FD, K, m42...), it may become profitable without being
marketed for
either morons or professionals. perhaps not now, perhaps in a few
years. it's just
plain stupid to let a significant chunk of market made of enthusiasts
go completely
ignored. there must be some good money there.

tell that to hasselblad, leica and linhof. yes, and cosina, of course.

so it makes it a tie if they increase their sales numbers by as little as 1%!
