well, a third possibility is that the body Tom is talking about will come in
much higher than $2K. what are the chances of that given that the Nikon
D200, a camera i expect to be similar to what Pentax should announce, is
supposed to list for $2300? a $3K body from Pentax? it's what i have been
asking for, but i doubt it.

the rumors from Japan are that there will be two DSLRs from
Pentax/Samsung next year, a $700 body in the spring and a $2000 body in
the fall, both with Samsung sensors. this also means that the camera Tom
was talking about is either pretty much finalized and only waiting to be
announced, or it has been shelved for next fall as the combined
Pentax/Samsung announcement.
Not good if they shelve it. That means 3 years to put out a new camera to
replace the istD.
That's a year and a half too slow.
