the reason Sony is falling behind now is because people think it is not technologically with it. from what i have seen in the last decade or so, they haven't been at the front in a while.

Herb...

My TV repairman, long in the business and an Authorized Sony dealer, says Sony is not anywhere near the top quality TV it used to be. In almost 13 years with my 27" Trinitron CRT Sony I've had to replace whatever board the sound is generated by/from, twice. And in the past month or so it is acting up again.
The picture is still without fault, but the sound is going bad again.

I called the store, and they will no longer come pick it up free of an extra charge. They'll fix it if *I* bring it in. Maybe. Bloody thing weighs 101 lb. No way I'm going to haul that thing in and out of my car, etc...

So, I'll soon be out looking for a replacement, but this time it will probably be an LCD unit and I'll certainly be looking at Samsung!

sure, and IMHO it's a good news - Samsung is slowly replacing Sony as the (technological) leader in consumer entertainment

Is technological the same as largest?
