There is something strangely satisfying in spending more than the cost of a replacement on a CLA.

A psychologist would be able to explain better, but it's something to do with the bond that forms between a man and his (delete as applicable) LX / MX / K50mm f/1.4 / M85 mm f/2 .......

Or perhaps I'm just crazy.

No, my repairmen just smiles when I bring yet another body or lens in for it's CLA. Most of the time, it would have been prudent to forget it, and find an honest way to be rid of it.
But, I went ahead and authorized it's CLA... He loves me! ;-)

One of the more outrageous CLAs I had done was an AGFA Isolette III 6X6 folder. I sent it in to a nationally recognized repair person, who notified me of a bellows leak, among other things. I ended up with a new bellows, a recalibration of the rangefinder and a shutter clean and lube. It's absolutely a wonderful 90% condition camera, but not worth 30% of what I've put into it! Certainly not for it's very nice but somewhat pedestrian lens...

Oh well, I'm happy.

Gotta be. I have more almost like that! <big grin>
