I had an Epson R-D1 for a couple of months to review. I shot
thousands of images with it. It uses the same Sony CCD chip used
in the Nikon D100, a very capable sensor. I found image quality to
be excellent.
Same sensor in the Pentax *ist D, DS, DL, and DS2, too. Good choice. ;-)
I've seen quite a bit of good work with the R-D1. It's a bit pricey
for me, particularly as I no longer have any Leica M lenses.
