What is "pixel peeing?"

For shooting JPEG with the DS, the contrast and sharpness are
substantially reduced. and I think the camera is set to reduced saturation as well. This allows a lot of flexibility when working with the JPEG file.
These have become the new "default" JPEG parameters.

The DS produces very nice JPEG rendering in-camera, but PA's tests
are done with the camera set to its *defaults*, which are designed to
allow printing to 4x6" prints directly out of the camera. It does
that brilliantly but those files do not stand up to post-process
editing or pixel peeing very well.
