Kodachrome is the most Archival color film ever made. Very chemically stable. I'd bet that Kodak has a US Government contract to supply the stuff. (The colors will fade when exposed to light, but if stored in a cool dark place they supposedly last figuratively forever).

Very different from E6. I think the only place you can get Kodachrome
developed in the U.S. is at Kodak in Rochester.

Frankly, I'm amazed that Kodak still makes the stuff. Can't be long now
until it's obsoleted. I give it until the end of this year.
