All, There seems to be some interest on the list regarding my FA* lenses, so here's a quick review of the prices that they seem to be commanding these days. J.L. Colwell's SPLOSdb info shows the following numbers from the 2004 time frame:
FA* 85/1.4: $500 to $800 depending on condition FA* 28-70/2.8: $560 to $980 depending on condition FA* 80-200/2.8 $945 to $1350 depending on condition Prices seem to have risen since then, however. In the last 30 days, two FA*28-70/2.8 lenses sold on eBay via Buy It Now for ~$999 and a third was sold via competitive bid at ~$1132. An FA* 80-200/2.8 lens sold on eBay via Buy It Now for ~$1499 and another was sold via competitive bid at ~$1981. There is currently another one listed on eBay via Buy It Now from a seller in Edinburgh for GBP 1,300.00 (Approximately US $2,305.29). That one hasn't sold yet. The Buy It Now prices seem steep to me, but, hey, people out there are paying that much for them (except for that really high GBP 1300 listing). The 85 and 28-70 were purchased new by me, and the 80-200 was purchased in near-new condition around 1999. All are in really clean condition and I've got their original boxes. Anyone on the list interested at the recent eBay Buy It Now prices? The way things are going, you may be able to buy a lens, use it for six months, and make a profit selling it. --Mark
