FWIW, the anti-shake system in the Minolta 7D and 5D DSLRs works with any lens. I tried it with my 500/8 mirror and it worked just fine. So hand holding mirrors with these two cameras, and forthcoming cameras with anti-shake in the bodies, is practical.
