Thanks a lot, ERN.
So, you udr yhr *ist D?
My *ist D is quite "noicy" at ISO 1600-3200.
Most of the shots are done at ISO 1600, one single shot at ISO 3200.

Me too!
I want no more noice than my *ist D makes at ISO 400.
A camera that can do this would mean a MAJOR BREAK THROUGH in the
photograpic evolution.
It would mean more than Image Stabilizing and very fast (expensive) glass
(like a 1.0/300mm lens).
¨I'd rather pay 1000 USD for an "noiceless" sensor and get rid of the bulky,
heavy and expensive "fast" lenses.

I think my pix look like ISO 800-1600 Fuji gilm. So it's really not all that
bad.
But I would like to have even less noise.

Most consumers don't mind using a flash.
I do. A flash makes unnatural looking light (light should come from above to
look natural).
Furthermore - flash light draws too much attension to the photographer - and
somtimes ruins the atmosphere of the event.
I normally use no flash or bounce it off the cieling. But I still have to
shoot at ISO 800-3200. And this makes the images look grainy and "noicy".
Regards
Jens

Hey, those are really nice! some are really, really nice ...
I do a lot of shooting at 1600 with the *ist D too. Did you take those
pictures at 3200? because I don't get anywhere near that much noise at 1600.
(For myself, I wish I had a camera like my Optio which could go faster
than 400 with no more noise than what's in those pictures you've shown.
Your pictures look like what I get from the Optio 550 at 400. But that's
by the way.)
